Yoga Mat AQL Inspection Guide: Defects, Sampling and Reports
Pre-shipment inspection gives buyers an independent view of product quality before the balance payment and shipment release. AQL sampling makes the decision consistent, but only when defect definitions and test methods are agreed in advance.
How to plan an AQL inspection
1. Define the lot
Record the total quantity, number of cartons, production completion level and sampling plan.
2. Classify defects
Separate critical, major and minor defects. Examples include unsafe contamination, wrong material, delamination, severe odor, incorrect dimensions, print defects and packaging damage.
3. Add functional tests
Check length, width, thickness, weight, logo position, adhesion, surface condition, roll recovery, packaging and carton markings.
4. Require evidence
The report should include quantities, sampled cartons, photographs, measurements, test results and a clear pass or fail conclusion.
Buyer checklist
- Approve a golden sample and specification
- Define defect severity before inspection
- State the AQL levels and sample size
- Require corrective action for failed lots
- Do not ship until disposition is agreed
